The silicone heads are removable for easy cleaning. Simply place the silicone head in the dishwasher or wash in warm, soapy water. Due to the wooden handle, we would recommend that this part of the product be washed by hand.
About Le Creuset
A lifetime spent crafting the finest cookware. Le Creuset has been making superb, award winning cookware since 1925 and the secret recipe of ingredients remains the same today. Each piece is made from a unique mould into which molten iron is poured from a large cauldron (called a creuset). This creates a unique piece, each with it’s own identity and style. The piece is then hand finished and subjected to strict quality checks. Finally the cast iron is enamelled at extremely high temperatures to create the vibrant lustre and hard finish which looks great in the home.

Wave goodbye to those grubby wooden spoons
the future is silicone, from Le Creuset.
Colour BLUE.
Not only is it far more hygienic than a wooden spoon, as it can withstand temperatures up to 425° C, but far more versatile, too.
The removable, flexible head is dishwasher safe, (as it is not recommended to put wooden handles in machines) although it is seldom necessary, as it washes up a treat in hot, soapy water in the kitchen sink.
It will not scratch or damage any cookware surface.
Presented in a sealed pack it makes an excellent gift for the chef who already has everything!
Available in a variety of other colours and sizes, on Amazon, today.
You'll never need to buy another wooden spoon!
I use this all the time when I am cooking, they are so much more hygenic and easy to clean than that grotty old wooden spoon you have had lying around for years. 5*s from me!
Just beware!
This is a great little wooden handled, silicone headed alternative to the traditional wooden stirring spoon. We bought ours in April this year (2009) and at first were delighted with it.
However, one day my husband was making scrambled eggs on the hob top, using the spoon to do so as usual. Suddenly the head came away from the handle and disappeared under a half-mixed mash of eggs!!! It was a surprise and a bit annoying at the time, to say the least. The fact that the head comes off for cleaning in the dishwasher really shouldn't mean that the head could come off at any time - especially when you are cooking with it!!!!!!
I think the best advice would be to ensure that you push it very firmly onto the handle prior to each use, as it really does seem to come off easily - I'm surprised that this hasn't happened to anyone else yet.
Apart from that one little design fault (which I suppose is quite major, considering the fact that it is also one of the selling points on here) it is still a handy little addition to the kitchen drawer/pot/rack or wherever you choose to lay your utensils!!
