Customer Reviews
Budget Aiso input device
I bought this as my work have just furnished me with a new laptop and I quite fancied putting some music software on it.
The Behringer UCG102 works a treat for me, put in the disk, load the driver and follow the instructions.
I had it installed and working in under 5 mins.
I'm impressed with the very low latency, I have a DMX 6 fire soundcard in my desktop and this thing sounds and plays just as good.
The guitar combo software is ok, but wont work as a VST effect.
Don't let that bother you, after all it is the usb device that you are paying for.
Also there are that many great sounding free guitar amp simulators out there anyway so who need's it.
The Behringer UCG102 also works perfectly in FL studio.
Excellent little input device
I'm not sure why the first two reviewers are having problems. It could be that they don't have the ASIO drivers properly installed or else they haven't 'told' the Kristal recording studio/Guitar Combo software about the ASIO drivers. Without the drivers you will get very long latency. I have the software installed on a five year old computer with on-board sound and it works perfectly.
Basically...crap
Firstly, I want to say that this piece of kit IS NOT EASY TO USE. It took me hours to find the best audio setting, that still has a 5-second delay and terrible, crackly sound. I still cannot get any sound out of the headphones. There are, admitedly, a whole host of effects on the guitar combo software, but these tend to create more frustration at the lowly grunt that is expelled by my computer whenever I strum a chord. I have tried all three of the guitar combo's, none of which are any better than the last. The recording equipment doesn't register my guitar, with or without the guitar combo software running and yet the light on the bow flashes as if to say it is active. The support is confusing and difficult to use, taking you to a host of useless sites nothing like the one you intended to land on, most just selling you more useless products. I managed to find a few 'related FAQ's', but infact, none of them actually mention this product. Mine may be faulty, I'm not sure, I haven't had much response yet, but you're probably better off buying a crap amp and a four-track recorder for about £20 each unless you have your own music production guru...If you're just a boring guitarist like me IT'S A DEFINITE NO-GO!!!
