Take the versatility of a ball head add true ergonomic control and you get the 322RC2: a photographic head that allows you to unblock move position and lock your camera with one hand in one position thanks to the revolutionary design of its grip handle which incorporates the ball lock lever and can also mount the 322RS shutter release accessory. A friction control wheel lets you regulate the power of the blocking mechanism to match the weight of your camera/lens. The 322RC2 is made from magnesium for lightweight performance and is designed to keep the weight of your kit as close as possible to the tripod s centre of gravity by way of its reduced height. This matched with the precision construction of the 322RC2 gives the head its load capacity of 5kg (11lbs). NB. When the head is used in the vertical configuration (to match the function of the existing 222 head) its load capacity is only 2.5kg (5.5 lbs).Complete with built-in bubble spirit level and quick release camera plate (standard 1/4 - 20" screw with secondary safety pin). Suitable for use with 35mm or medium format cameras. Customer Reviews
This thing rocks!!!
I bought this head to go with the Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod and it's really flippin' good.
It's just so easy to use! Once you've got the camera secured onto the head and tripod assembly all you do is squeeze the handle to release the grip on the ball joint housed within the unit and you can move the camera into almost any position imaginable! You can point it up about 5 degrees or down 90 degrees and also rotate the camera into portrait orientation on the left or right side in seconds.
The really cool and timesaving part though is the detachable plate mechanism. What you have is a little plate that screws into the base of the camera using the normal tripod screw. To detach the camera from the head all you do is flick a little locking lever underneath and pull back the main locking lever on top and the camera is free to handhold with the plate unobtrusively still attached to the base of the camera. It takes about 1 second and means you don't have to unscrew anything. To reattach the camera simply get the bevelled edge of the plate back in its recess then let the other side click down, push the main locking lever in a bit to ensure a firm grip and flick the underneath locking lever and voila its back on in about 2 seconds, rock solid and ready to point anywhere.
The head also has a dial to adjust the tension required to overcome the grip of the ball and socket joint. It is rated to handle a camera combo up to 5kg which will cover most gear combinations save for those huge white canon 'L' super zooms weighing as much as a small child.
And finally this thing is BUILT - it will last for years. And it has a cute little spirit level built in!
I want to knock a star off for the price but can't bring myself too. It's just so easy to use.
Fabulous piece of gear.
It Works & Work Well
Yes I bought mine after reading the reviews and what a difference it made setting up for that shot you need to get outdoors or indoors.
Just one trigger not 2 or 3 levers to work with, press that trigger set the angle and take the shot.
Heavy duty, it's build is solid for those knocks it will get
Second nature
If you're serious about photography, or simply have a disposable income and like squeezing triggers, then this is for you.
Some day, all tripod heads will be made this way (if rivals can circumvent the clever patented design) and I don't know if I'll ever be able to accept anything less. Click 'Add to basket' or '1-click' now - you'll thank me for it.
