Editorial Reviews

Manufacturer's Description
Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal-centre-column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, making switching between framing and positioning setups more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle-release mechanism and the quick-action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.

Light weight option4
When it comes to tripods there are 3 factors to consider ,stability ,weight and price.

If you are on a budget and are looking for a good ,stable and light tripod that you can carry in long walks ,look no more .Although it weights 1800 grams it can take nearly 5000 grams ( medium D-SLR plus a large telephoto ) and can switch from vertical to horizontal framing very easily.

Is not as stable as its predecesors the 055 but it has the feel of a professional tripod.

4 1/2 stars

perhaps just too short4
There is now little reason to use a tripod except in very low light or for very long exposures for dramatic effect. This is particularly so with the superb high ISO performance of modern dSLRs. So, if you are going to use a tripod, you will need one that is really quite stable.

This is a lovely solid tripod. It has easy to adjust legs, nice platform and removable centre column, a reasonable price, and all highly portable. Unfortunately, only by raising the centre column fully can the camera come to eye level when standing. With the column up, the platform is noticeably less stable. So, either prepare to flex, and enjoy lower views, or consider the heavier 055 instead.

Giotzos are for life.5
I bought this tripod after seeing so many recommendations but to be frank the Gitzo was so much more expensive I really didn't know if it was worth the extra cash. However, I have been usiong mine for over a year and its by far the best tripod I have used. Sturdy but still portable. Only thing which can be irritating is the legs release. You need to release these in order but then again thats no hardship.

I use this tripod as my first port of call an it has now demoted my Benbo which again has had 15 years odf service. All in all you get what you pay for and at this costs it pays back over and over again.
