The Keep Calm and Carry On design was rediscovered by Barter Books on a poster in the bottom of a box of books in 2000. The design dates back to the spring of 1939 when the British Government's Ministry of Information commissioned a series of posters to keep up moral as war looked increasingly likely. Just five words printed in a unique handsome typeface sum up the British attitude perfectly.

A little smaller than I might have liked (the larger version is far too big), but this is a quality china mug.
