Manufacturer's Description
Samsung's rear wireless speaker unit for use in conjunction with Samsung's compatible home theatre kits ~ your rear speakers of the home theatre kit do not need connecting to the main home theatre DVD unit , as the signal is transferred wirelessly to a receiving unit at the back of the room ~ removes some of the overall wiring requirements and also can potentially allow better placement of the rear speakers for maximum audio impact

swa-3000 vs swa-40005
I have a samsung surround sound system and was using the swa-3000 until a few weeks ago, when there was a power failure (and probably a surge / spike) and the unit stopped working. 2 years over the 1 yr guarantee, and faced with ridiculous quotes to repair it, I decided to upgrade to the swa-4000. Didnt hurt as much as the £100 I originally paid, but still hurt. Also invested in a surge protector which I would recommend!!

So, because of all the improvements in the new unit, I felt compelled to write a review. The main improvement is sound quality and less interference. When the system was on, it often reduced the speed of my wireless pc upstairs and when I was using high bandwidth via the router (same room as amp) - there was a definite drop in sound quality on some tv channels that are broadcast on a lower quality. I even changed the wifi broadcast channel on my router/wifi devices to reduce the interference, but I think it broadcasts mid-range - maybe ch 8, but i found channel 11 works best if you have a swa-3000). The 4000 runs at 5.8ghz instead of 2.4, which eliminated this issue (until i start using 5.8 wifi equipment).

The other improvement is setup, didnt have to sync or configure anything, literally plugged in it and job done. old unit was a serious hassle. It may also be interesting to know that i was told by the samsung support line, that it is compatible with all samsung sound systems that have a tx card slot (tx card included).

I have also seen some reviews where people say the fan (non-existent on the 3000) can get noisy. As i havent been using it for that long, i cant really comment.

5 stars because of all the improvements, sleeker design and slightly cheaper than the older model.

Pricey solution to cable clutter, but it does the job well.3
This product is worth buying if your rear speaker cables trail across your floor. I had my wires taped down to prevent people tripping over them or the cat from chewing them, so it was a safety issue as well as an aesthetic one. The sound is just as good as with wires connected, although the fan in the wireless unit can be a bit noisy and it can get quite warm at times, so remember to switch it off when you're done! the TX card was included. Just follow the instructions in the manual that comes with your Home Cinema (the ones in the wireless unit are a bit vague). Overall, I'm glad I bought it although it wasa bit expensive for something that only runs 2 speakers.

The Truth5
Simple review - Yes it comes with the TX card and yes it works well with my Samsung HT-TZ315R - 5.1 ch - 1000 Watt Bluetooth Home Cinema System - With HDMI - Black
