Average customer review:Product Description
"UV filters are considered a standard accessory for every SLR lens, including the lens that may have been included with your camera. The size is designed to fit the threads in front of your lens. It protects the actual lens from dust, fingerprints, and other small substances that can harm image results. The filter is also easier to keep clean. That's why it should always remain on your camera. The filter has threads to accept any other effect filters you may wish to add."

Manufacturer's Description
Haze(UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired they can be left on the lens at all times for protection. Haze filters provide additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet(UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.

All the way from america.?......
I cannot fault this item, it fits my Panasonic FZ18 perfectly, with no colour change in the printed pictures and fitting was very easy.
But Why did it take 5 Weeks to arrive?
Some seem happy - I was not :(
By the 3rd or 4th photo with this lens I was noticing strange colours through my viewfinder. It didn't take long to see (by removing the lens) that the lens was not anti-reflective and these reflections were being seen and recorded on my pictures. I've returned the item - it's nothing more than a cheap piece of glass that's not even securely fixed in the screw ring!
Good Buy
Lens resolution tests (60 L/mm) with and with out this filter showed no loss when fitted.
