No more shaving rash...
I was looking for a new shaver as the battery had packed up in my five-year-old Philips and saw this one advertised in GQ magazine. As a gadget junky I was attracted by its features and the cleaning station which is a real plus. After one week with this shaver I have to say it is awesome... the shave is as close as you can get with an electric and, more importantly, the shaving rash around my neck which I had taken for granted for years has vanished after just a week!!

The plus points for this shaver are the closeness of shave which, as I said, is excellent, the cleaning station which leaves you with a 'brand new' shaver every morning and the quality of build - feels like it is built to last for many years... On the subject of cleaning, I see that Mr A. N. Thame has proved he is a real man by not reading the manual. If he had, he would know that the 'hygiene meter' does not replenish when you wash it under the tap, only when you use the cleaning station! As for his 1 star rating, that is ridiculous - this really is as good as you can get in an electric shaver.

The minus points are the noise - it is much louder than Philips alternatives and the price (which is why it only gets 4 stars) - £175 is a lot to pay. However, it still works out cheaper (and easier) than razor blades over a life of a few years.

If you are not worried about price and want an easy, clean and irritation-free shave every day I would highly recommend the Pulsonic. My allegiance to Philips has now officially ended!

Simply the best
I went back to an old fashioned safety razor this year because I was so fed up with the Gillette Mach 3 and Fusion blades rip off. I spent £100 on wet shaving kit - brush, Jeremiah Harbottle's Old fashioned shaving cream etc and all I got was a face cut to ribbons. Then I bought this - where has it been all my life? The quality of the shave is quite simply the best I have ever encountered from an electric shaver and the cleaning system is little short of brilliant. Yes this is a very expensive piece of kit - but then you have only got one face haven't you?

What Rash?
If you suffer from shaver rash, read on!

I had suffered from shaver rash for well over 23 years! I have used all sorts of razors, cheap and expensive. I have used creams soaps and even pure alcohol in an attempt to clean my face \ razors and shavers in an attempt to stop the rash, but to no avail. That was until recently.

My wife purchased me the Braun Pulsonic - wow! It works so well. In use, the shaver feels well built (typical German design!)and sits well in the hand. As for the shave.... excellent AND I do not get a "hot face" whilst shaving (from the shaver head getting hot).

The cleaning \ recharge unit is a real godsend - after every shave, I pop the shaver into the unit, where it then cleans the head in an alcohol solution, drys it then charges the shaver. BE WARNED, the Philips range uses a soap solution, where as the Braun uses a mixture that cleans and kills bacteria. It must be this, coupled to the quality of the blades ensuring a smooth shave that have eliminated my shaver rash.

I have had the unit for just over 1 month now, shaved every day and my skin looks more healthy now than it has done for the past 23 years. I definitely recommend this shaver.
