One of the most versatile grills available
These grills have been around almost as long as I have. George Stephen invented the kettle grill back in the early 1950s by cutting in half a metal buoy and adding grates. It was a great idea that continues to be one of the most versatile grills around.
I use mine regularly. I have a gas grill but I prefer the taste of food grilled over charcoal or wood. The Weber can be set up to do everything from hamburgers to turkeys to roasts to ribs. It does all of them well. To me, it's much easier to use than a gas grill or other types of charcoal grills. There are other charcoal grills that resemble the Weber but I would never consider less than the original.
They do eventually wear out. I've had mine for about 12 years. It has been out in the weather all that time, mostly left full of ashes. As a result of the abuse, it now has some spots that have rusted through, the wooden handles and the discs that control airflow at the bottom of the kettle have fallen off. It still works pretty well. I do intend to replace it soon--I have my eye on a One Touch Gold model.
Simply The Best
When all is said and done, this is still the best charcoal barbecue you will ever buy. By keeping the lid on, you eliminate flare ups because the oxygen inside can't support them. The control over the heat is better than some gas barbecues. And of course, when you've finished cooking, shut down the vents and save the coals for future use. I have won many barbecue competitions using different barbecues, but when I'm back home using my Silver grill, I'm at my happiest. The quality is still unsurpassed, and it will last many, many years.
Best Roast Chicken Ever!
This is the king of all BBQ's! Not only does it look great, it never rusts, its easy to transport, and its absolutely fantastic to cook on.
For a novel Sunday lunch we've placed a whole chicken on the Weber and left the lid on for an hour or so. The result is fantastic and very tasty.
We've had this model for over a year and it still looks as good as new. Definitely recommend splashing out on a Weber for the authentic charcoal BBQ experience and quality product.
