The Balmoral rug is an attractive addition to your home, with its contemporary design. This beige rug has a block of 3 x 5 geometric squares in contrasting mahogany brown, chocolate brown and light brown with a beige circle in each one. Made by hand using a needle gun, which loops each thread of wool through the hessian base on which the rug design is drawn. Each rug has around 56 wool tufts per square inch and has a pile weight of about 2.8 kilograms per square metre. A latex glue is then used to secure the cotton backing. Made in the Indian city of Panipat, which has a long established hand tufting and handloom weaving industry and is some 90 kilometres north of Delhi. The Balmoral rug is made from Bikaner wool, world renowned for its excellent quality.
