Manufacturer's Description

Take, for example, the brilliant Remington Professional Straight in a Stroke 230ºC Straightener. This little beauty is packed with genuine professional features that ensure flawless, super smooth straight hair in minutes. It's magnificently hi-spec, yet it's exceptionally easy to use, and it effortlessly delivers a truly professional finish every time.
Fashion chameleons - this one's for you
The Straight in a Stroke Straightener is just the job for those of you who like to change things around regularly. Because now you can change your hairstyle to suit your mood whenever you want. Thick and curly hair can be stunningly transformed into long-lasting slippery smooth tresses in an instant - all thanks to this supreme straightening tool.
Professional style - staggering results
The Remington Straight in a Stroke is in a league of its own when it comes to innovation. These straighteners are part of a range that features our exclusive Teflon Nano-Diamond Ceramic coated floating plates - these are longer than standard plates and can accommodate more hair coverage. They provide superior tension and even heat-distribution for quicker, kinder, straighter and smoother results in one stroke. There is no need to re-do.

When it comes to straighteners, temperature is everything and, with first class know-how from Remington Professional, Straight in a Stroke comes up trumps. It gives you greater flexibility with a temperature range covering 130ºC to 230ºC – making it suitable every hair type. Unlike other straighteners, you have complete control over the heat adjustment so you're not at risk of using too high a temperature for your hair.

These straighteners also offer smart features such as a temperature lock function, an automatic shut-off function (so no need to worry if you forget to turn them off), and a turbo boost button which will take them to full heat in just 15 seconds. When not in use, the plates can be closed into a locked position for protection and easy storage. A stylish roll-out pouch also contains sectioning clips and comb.
Worldwide voltage means it doesn't matter where you are in the world – you can still use your Straight in a Stroke, which can use voltage ranges from 120V to 240V.
So, fashionistas and anybody serious about perfecting stunning looking hairstyles, if you're looking for a versatile, easy-to-use, high-speed straightener that delivers salon quality results, then you will love Straight in a Stroke. It's the ‘must buy' for every hair type and every beauty regime.

Customer Reviews
A good alternative to GHD
I bought these because I didn't want to pay twice as much for some GHDs, and my last (great) straighteners were Remington. For the most part, I haven't been disappointed, though there are frustrations. I have thick, course, curly hair, and they work on that in almost a single (slow!) stroke.
PROS:
- Cheaper than GHDs
- They have variable temperature. Which I'm sure someone out there must use - my hair is too curly for that.
- They work!
- They don't cool down after a while (which every single pair of GHDs I have EVER used has)
- The power cord is nice and long
- They work overseas (I'm actually in Australia with them at the moment)
CONS: (there's a few I'm afraid)
- The auto-off function is questionable - the handle gets worryingly hot if they are left plugged into the wall (even when the unit is powered off)
- They look and feel a bit naff/breakable. I'm used to Remington being high quality feeling products, but I was disappointed by the plastic, creaky and altogether unattractive look.
- The plates seem to be a bit coarse in their finish - I was worried about what it would do to my hair, but it seems okay (after 6 months of use - not every day)
- When you're using them, the handle gets really hot. Sometimes they are hard to hold. Probably only a problem with long, thick hair (which I have), which means they're on for longer.
- The heat proof mat provided with the straighteners hasn't stood the test of heat particularly well (it is usable, but rather tatty looking these days)
Fantastic straighteners
Really good straighteners, used to use GHDs but prefer these :) Heat up really quickly and they straighten my hair in one or two strokes.
straighteners
These straighteners are excellent, they are smooth gliding but you can adjust them to whatever heat setting you want, so you can decide how hot you want it! Brilliant quality.
