Theyre not easy to describe - the visual effect is three dimensional - impossible to replicate on a flat page, but they really are very good, so please stick with us and we will try to explain.The pictures are large, each measuring 65x30cm and each is formed from three convex card panels (see image ?). The illusion tricks the eye by placing smaller graphics closer to the viewer and larger graphics farther away (the opposite to what our brain accepts as normal). Weve made it sound simple, apparently its not easy to achieve, but the resulting effect is completely unexpected and unlike anything you are likely to have experienced before. Not only do you get a sudden sense of depth (in the opposite direction to which you might expect), but the real magic is when the image appears to move, rotating and changing perspective in line with the smallest movement of your head. Its very clever and strange; even slightly unnerving as the brain simply makes up something that doesnt exist, to cope with what it cant understand.
