Customer Reviews

Overpriced book3
I have read John Bradleys book from cover to cover and it is an excellent work, there is no doubt about that. However it is very expensive and as I read it I was constantly reminded of John Robinson's book titled Chassis Tuning, which contains all of the information in John Bradley's book at a third of the price and in a quarter of the space.
If you want only one, then buy JR's book. If you do buy John Bradley's book and already have JR's book then you will probably feel as I do, that it is a bit of a waste of money and contains no new information.

Good reference book4
While Vol. 1 concentrates on design theory, this Vol. 2 book takes the reader through the hands-on, nuts-and-bolts issues, like welding, materials science, etc. It IS a very expensive book but if you're a motorhead you will find yourself reaching for it as it has good tables explaining steel tube thickness equivalents in swg, inches and mm. There's also a walkthrough of different steel tube types, e.g. the famous Reynolds 531, 4130 and branded stuff like T45, etc. I would give it 5 stars but the lack of colour photographs sort of cheapens the whole thing a bit. I've found nothing else like it though.

The Racing Motorcycle V25
This book has to rate as one of the most comprehensive sources of information relating to motorcycle construction. The written style is easy to follow and 'non threatening' which actually encourages you to get out into the workshop.

There have been comments in other Amazon customer reviews that this book is not worth the money but, in my mind at least, nothing could be further from the truth. The John Robinson book for example mearly scratches the surface while TRM vol2 passes on a wealth of hard earned experience.
