Isle of Man (Landmark Visitors Guide)

A very useful book to have in your bag when visiting the Isle of Man.

Fantastic Book on the Isle of Man!!
This is a wonderful book, written by a native Manx lady, that is both a historical records of some of the places on the island as well as a road-by-road account of all the towns and villages in this beautiful nation. The book has a great amount of imformation, coupled with 5-star photographs, and is easily readable. It is focused on the tourist who is going to visit the Isle of Man for what ever reason: treking (hiking), the TT races, the bird viewing, as a honeymoon place to visit, or just a place to visit on holiday (vacation).

I've been on the Isle of Man a couple of years ago and my only wish is that I purchased this book well BEFORE I got there. None the less ... I'm going to visit the IOM again in 2010 and with this book I'll be much more informed as to what to see, do, how to get there, as well as what some of the Manx terms mean. One thing this book is NOT is a road map of the Isle - of course, it never was intended to be a road map!

Coupled with a road map or two, an up-to-the-month activities brochure from the Douglas-based Chamber of Commerce, this book would allow any traveler to have a smashing time touring about this wonderful place in the world! Highly recommended!!!
