Customer Reviews

Comprehensive but quite unhelpful.2
If you look at the photo credits, it is clear this book is closely associated with the Isle of Man Government Department of Tourism & Leisure. It shows. Utterly glowing about the island, you will have to read very carefully to find whether some attractions listed are still open or even still exist. (For example the section on Ramsey mentions the Queen's Pier, the fact it is closed is elsewhere.)

There is a chapter listing attractions, but it does not give opening dates or times. Given the thematic structure of this book, if you want to use it as a guide a well compiled index is essential. Sadly the book is lacking here. To take the example of Ramsey again, the index shows 26 entries for this town, but some of these pages have no mention of the town.

Finally a few words about the chapter on walks around the island: don't use it. For the more rural routes there is far too little information and one could easily get lost.
