Local journalist Alex Hart seizes on the chance to report on an event beyond the usual mundane regional offerings of village fetes and community life: a man's dead body has been found floating in the river. The key to his death is contained within a file on a secreted computer disk. Hart becomes a fugitive and teams up with national journalist Jane Coker as they try to decipher the contents of the disk. What they find is a trail that leads to Mary Queen Of Scots and the realisation that sinister media magnate Arturo Tabb and his best selling newspaper's next world exclusive delves into history to challenge the fabric of modern English society. If Hart and Coker can stay alive and provide the truth, an explosive historical chapter will not be re-written....Full Story Inside.

Fast paced thriller
This was recommended to me by a friend which usually means I won't like it, however Full Story Inside is a clever and quirky thriller. The chapters are mostly quite short and jump around through a few sub plots that overlap nicely as the story unfolds. I actually managed to read it over a weekend which is pretty good going for me.
Historical crime is quite the fashion at the moment and this book took a slightly different approach by setting it in modern day London. The main character Alex Hart is trying to unravel a historical conspiracy while avoiding the attentions of a would be assassin. It works well and seems to be well researched on the historical side of things.
A very good solid read for a train journey.
Fantastic - Gets you hooked and doesn't let go........
A complete change of direction by Steve Horsfall but, and no discredit to his first two books, in my humble opinion this is by far his best effort. As usual he develops the major and minor characters with skill and subtlety, the difference this time is the plot which sucks you straight into a tangled web of intrigue (and doesn't let go).
Sounds corny maybe but this defintely has the 'can't put it down' quality a good thriller should.
Buy it, borrow it, whatever but above all read it.
More of the same please.
Breathless
'Full Story Inside' is a non-stop action thriller that hooks you from
the beginning and does not let go. It leans towards John Buchan in many
ways and adds all the good bits of Dan Brown. The characters are all
interesting and superbly developed from the everyman Alex Hart to the
modern feisty Jane Coker to old fashioned cop DI Parker to sinister
villain Arturo Tabb (great name!). The plot meanders intriguingly
against an interesting historical backdrop around the life and times of
Mary Queen of Scots, and whilst providing a very sustainable commentary
on the power of the written word as manipulated by the Press. This is my
first Steve Horsfall novel so I cannot comment on the comparison with
his other books ( which appear to be more Lad Lit in nature) but would
strongly recommend 'Full Story Inside' as a one off read.
