A good bike for the price
I bought this bike for my wife who wanted to be able to ride to work and back, and to be able to go on family bike rides. We didn't want something too expensive as it will spend a lot of time locked to bike parks, and having looked around we chose this bike.
Having formerly been into mountain biking myself, but out of the loop for a few years now, I knew pretty much what to look for, but I also knew that at this price range I wasn't going to get anything amazing. Looking at the specs (which are lacking quite a lot of information) I gathered that this would be a fairly good bike, so I purchased it. Amazon did a great job of getting it to me the next day, and I assembled it. As I used to be into bikes, and I'm an engineer, I didn't require the instructions, I put the bike together in about 10 minutes. Allen keys were supplied, as was one of them hideous universal spanners that you get with bikes, so no other tools were required for assembly, just a screwdriver for setting up.
The bike was also quite well set up straight out of the box. I had to do some minor tweaking for the gears and brakes but another 15 mins of setting it up and it was running sweetly, changing gear easily and with just the right amount of movement on the brake levers. Once the bike was together, I had a quick look at the instructions to see if there was any servicing required for the front forks and found that the instructions were generic rubbish that would be useless for setting up and putting together the bike, so get someone who knows what they are doing if you don't have a clue.
After setting it up, I took it out in the street to check all was well and it was pretty nice to ride. The front brake took a bit of bedding in to get it to stop quickly, and the suspension forks are a bit poor (they appear to pretty much stay where the last bump took them down to) but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the bike. It exceeds my expectations of a bike in this price range. It is fairly light and looks great.
Great bike, well worth the cash
Bike is exactly like the one pictured, lightweight and the saddle is padded (unlike some of my previous bike saddles).
Not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about, must have put review on wrong item, as this bike is as described.
I'm very happy with it and use it every day as I cycle to work, also planning on a weekend cycling trip, as I'm confident the bike is up to it (just not so sure about my legs).
Great bike , low price
I had trawled various sites to find a decent bike for a decent price , the Reebok Core appeared to tick all the boxes .The reviews on Amazon help with my decision , so it was fingers crossed until it can a couple of days after ordering . Assembling the bike wasn't to bad , and I even fitted the mud guards and had tyres pumped up and running in no time 30 mins .
I am about 5ft 9inches in height , but felt that maybe i could of done with a 20 inch frame , but after adjusting seat back and up I felt more comfortable . I am not a total off road rider, but have a mix of terrain on route to work; muddy lane , road , gravel , so I felt I needed a fairly sturdy bike with only a budget price . Again it seems to fit the bill .
To summarize , if you don't want to spent to much but want a fairly good all rounder the I recommend this bike and I find it a joy to ride . Read the other reviews - they cover alot more and ignore the 2 star review ...in the end it is up to you !
