Product Description

"A minority of one" Lesley Brain's story of her time in the Big Brother house will appeal to both enthusiasts and critics of the international television phenomenon that is Big Brother, as well as to a wider audience. What possessed this apparently conventional lady to undertake this extraordinary adventure into the world of modern 'celebrity'? It is light-hearted yet thought-provoking.

Funny and insightful4
This is an account of Lesley's time in the Big Brother house last summer and the road that took her there. (Lesley is the grandmother and WI member who calmed down with a strawberry.) There are lots of laugh-out-loud moments but also some sharp insights into the BB experience, including the audition process and what it was like to live with the other contestants. Throughout, Lesley draws parallels with the original world of Big Brother in Orwell's "1984". My only complaint is that the 168 pages seemed to fly by, which left this reader wanting a little more. However, the stories are very well told and hopefully we will see a lot more from Lesley in future. Overall, a must read for fans of the show, and plenty for others to enjoy too. (By the way, Lesley has been an active and very welcome participant on the Digital Spy Big Brother Forum, where she continues to entertain.)

interesting and funny read5
I can only assume that the writer of the '1 star' review hasnt read the actual book, which surely is a bit stupid. Although not a particular fan of Lesley whilst she was in the house, i was given this title by a friend and really enjoyed it.
Lesley didnt spend a long time in the house, but the focusses on the whole process - the auditions, the assessments, and her actual housemates. It is a fascinating 'behind the scenes' look at what goes on, and i would certainly recommend anyone interested in Big Brother, give it a go.

Hilarious4
This is a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining insight into the 'Big Brother experience' There have been very few housemates with the wit and intelligence that Lesley Brain can bring to her story. Personally, I can't wait for more from this lady.
