The Whiz Freedom is antibacterial, hydrophobic and highly portable. Cleverly made, it will fold up when put in your pocket and spring back into shape when you need it. Because it is hydrophobic it can be flicked dry (no need to rinse it each time) and the antibacterial properties of the material from which it is made allow the device to be re-used over and over with no degradation in its hygienic properties. The Whiz Freedom is a soft and gentle, ingenious device and it allows women of all ages to wee in a standing up, sitting down or lying position without undressing. The Whiz Freedom means no more waiting, squatting holding on or hiding. Called a urine guide (also referred to as urine disposer or portable loo) its carefully (and cleverly) designed highly flexible lily shape fits comfortably the outer curves of the human body and is externally held against the groin. Once you start, nature and gravity do the rest. Urine is directed away from the body so there are no flowbacks, splashes or spills, you don't even have to remove outer or under clothing. CE marked, FDA approved, and medically approved, the Whiz Freedom preserves Dignity and Liberty whatever the circumstances. It gives women the choice to wee wherever and whenever they choose. Aside from allowing women to wee in a standing up, sitting down or lying position, the Whiz Freedom can be used in confined spaces such as while in a wheelchair or a car, or when you are in crutches or using a zimmer frame or in a glider (you are up there for many hours) or underground exploring caves.

whiz freedom vs shewee
Whiz freedomShewee Female Urinating Device
As a mad fell walker, I had been thinking about buying a shewee for some time. Made the decision after damaging my knee. I bought both a shewee and a whiz freedom. No contest the whiz freedom is MUCH better.
It's design is far superior:
- it's made of soft rather than rigid plastic
- the shape is much better [slightly larger funnel, and better fit]
- it's much lighter [important when you're carrying it around the fells]
- the "spout" is longer - so you don't need fiddly extensions to fit when you're in a hurry!
- it doesn't leak!
The only critism [very minor] is the colour.
Am totally independent from both companies!
Whiz freedom rating - 5*, Shewee 2*
So Far I'm finding it Risky Business
Having arthritis in my knees I'm finding public toilets a real problem, especially when they're very low. Suffering with a severe case of penis envy I was delighted to come across a web site extolling the virtues of the Whiz freedom. I loved the colour and discrete design while the instructions, such as not forgetting to raise the toilet were light hearted. I lost no time in ordering one.
First I practiced in the shower which seemed to work quite well (although I couldn't believe how LOUD it sounded), then used it in our own bathroom. The first few times it worked perfectly, but then, for no real reason it was a disaster which left me standing in a huge pool of water.
It was the same story over the next few days, just as I began to gain confidence I would find myself standing in another puddle. I find the best way is to stand with one hand leaning against the wall as another reviewer mentioned, which was an improvement, but by no means foolproof. The problem seems to be that the tube is simply too narrow which causes a back flow, and odd as it may sound, after I've used it a few times in the day it sometimes seems to be too flexible and difficult to position correctly, especially at the back and at such times I might just as well not have bothered to use it at all!
I'm going away on holiday shortly, and though i might chance the Whiz in the hotel bathroom, I couldn't risk the embarrassment of using it anywhere else. From reading the reviews it seems that the Whiz suits some people and not others. Maybe it's something to do with body shape, how frequently it's used or maybe some people just have different rates of flow, but I've just ordered the Shewee and am keeping my fingers crossed (if not my legs).
Whiz versus Shewee
Shewee - 2 stars (but still practicing!)
Bought as I often go walking and am fed up with trying to find suitable bushes. Have practiced at home using other reviewers tips, but am still having some problems with leakage - I guess I still have the angle wrong. It is better not to hold it tight up against yourself, as it seems to "back-up", so maybe pressing against you at the back and more loosely at the back. Am not brave enough to try it out of the shower yet!
Rigid plastic and the extension tube seems enormous. Would be my second choice after the Whiz, but thats just my opinion.
Whiz - 5 stars (with not too much practice!)
I also bought this (Its worth noting you can get the Whiz on NHS prescription if you have a medical need - check out Whiz Freedom website).
This I got the hang of straight away. It feels much easier to use and just fits my shape, but practice first!
I am now confident to use this outdoors without leaking.
Soft plastic and exit tube is longer than Shewee, so extension pipe may not be much use except if wearing bulky clothes.
