Customer Reviews
First class, well thought out product.
I used to own a philips shaver a few years ago, and never really got on with it. It clogged up, was difficult to clean, looked ugly, and didn't actually shave very well. Recently though I started to get fed up with wet shaving, and decided to give electrical razors another go.
This shaver is excellent. The 'formula one' branding is a little cheesey and adolescent, but it's quite understated and not trying too hard. Actually the white and black colours of the Williams team look nice and clean and clinical on this product, and don't look as out of place in the bathroom as perhaps a ferrari red shaver might have done. The logos are discreet.
In use, the shaver doesn't feel as powerful as my original philips one. It's not buzzing away in my hand like a garden strimmer and at first I mistook this for poor performance. It's actually that the motors are far more efficient than previous models. The are very effective and they smooth and quiet motor doesn't vibrate your face into pins and needles. It cuts close and smooth.
It's very very easy to clean. Press a catch on the underside and the cutting head flips back. After each shave you can rinse the entire cutting mechanisim under the hot tap which is a brilliant way to keep it clean and the shaver working effectively. Occasionally the entire head detaches itself from the rest of the body, which is a bit disconcerting the first time it happens, but I found this made it easier to clean and it's easy to reattach.
I'm delighted with this shaver. I've been using it for 6 months now, and it still cuts close and smooth and is as effective as the day I bought it. A good price too, and highly recomended.
Not a good shave
I have owned this shaver for 3 months now and in 40 years of using wet and dry shavers this is the worst electric shaver i have used. You really do have to push hard to get a so so shave and then it still takes 20 minutes of constantly going over the same patch of skin to get it smooth ish, especially around the neck area.At the end of the day what shaver you buy is up to you, but i suggest saving up a bit more money and getting something else that will give a decent shave.I have heard but not seen that "Which" (whom i have alway trusted)said this is the best shaver, but i really can,t see how they have arrived at that conclusion. The cutters are supposed to last 18 months but when they do get blunt i will throw the whole lot away
Top top Shaver for £29.00 all in with the postage
Contrary to Big Daddys review my Philips is as quiet as a mouse and all I can say is Dave you got a duff one if yours is making that much noise, you can hardly hear it with its super quiet motor..Way quieter than my old Philips rechargeable which I had for over 6 years until I saw this and got it for peanuts instead of the £90+ price tag it is everywhere else..
Having now owned this Philips rechargeable Shaver around 4 weeks I think its time for the review on it..
Shave is good and close but not as good as a Razor but then you wouldn't expect it to be would you, this does a fine job of collecting and cutting all length hairs in all directions even under the neck area and under the nose creases..
It also has a built in pop up trimmer for sideburns and eyebrows and this does a great job at keeping the bushy brows under control, my only gripe is that it don't come with an adaptor for the plug but you can't have everything, found one in a local bargain store for 50p so I'm happy..
You can wash this model under the tap aswell which is just brilliant and saves me ages having to brush my last one out every other shave which was a chore to be honest, but this is clean in under 30 seconds and just leave it open to dry out naturally in the air.
All in all for the price I paid I'm made up..Well worth double the price and more I just hope it gives me as much trouble free shaving as my old Philips has..
