Inscribed on the gravestone of David Jefferies is: 'Those who risk nothing do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing'. As the undisputed master of the most dangerous race track in the world, the Isle of Man TT course, the affable Yorkshireman risked so much and achieved such legendary status before losing his life in practice for the 2003 TT. John McGuinness rated him as 'probably the most naturally talented rider in the British paddock'. This is his story.

Isle of Man Giant
To anyone remotely interested in motor cycle racing, the great D.J needs no introduction. It was watching a DVD of David circulating the IOM that sold me on road racing and resulted in visits to the races since. I would have dearly loved to have met the man, who emerges from the book as a great bloke without the pretensions of so many famous sportsmen. The biography is related in a strict chronological order. Key influences are clearly his father and uncle- the former wheelchair bound as a result of a racing accident. David clearly deserved far better in his career which was somewhat hampered in the eyes of many by his size- although the results clearly testify to the contrary. It is not surprising that the most moving part of this book relates to his last ill-fated visit to the IOM and the avoidable circumstances that led to his fatal accident. All his family emerges with much credit and dignity- David perished doing what he most loved. It is a fitting tribute to any fan of the man and anybody who has a love of motorcycle racing- read it and marvel at a giant of this great sport!!

One of the very best, (of many),biographies of motorcycle racers I have read.
Very readable from start to finish, informative and at times capable of reducing you to tears.
A superb testament to a courageous and highly talented individual.
David Jefferies Biography
Touching at times, Funny at times. A good read.
Not as Funny as Jamie Whithams autobiography or as Poignant as Steve Hislop's (both those get 5 starts from me) but still very good
