Manufacturer's Description
Braun strives to fulfil our consumers’ true needs with products that distinguish themselves through meaningful innovative features and benefits, high quality standards in performance and durability and ergonomic, distinctive and aesthetic design
Naturally, if you care about your health, you care about your blood pressure
To treat hypertension successfully, your doctor may recommend that you take your blood pressure at home regularly, and record the results
Blood Pressure measured in a doctors office only provides a momentary value. Repeated measurements at home better reflect one's actual blood pressure value under everyday conditions. Moreover, many people have different blood pressure when they measure at home because they tend to be more relaxed than when in the doctors office.
Regular blood pressure measurements taken at home can provide your doctor with valuable information on your normal blood pressure values under actual 'everyday' conditions.
This information can be very valuable for your treatment - but only if it is accurate
That's why it's so important to hold your wrist monitor in the right position - at heart level. Moreover, to obtain an accurate reading, it is essential to fasten the cuff correctly
The Braun Vitalscan Plus Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor has clear guidance on how to use the instrument accurately and stores 10 readings in its memory to help you monitor your blood pressure
Its large button and LCD display make it easy to use and read your results
It is clinically validated to AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments) protocol, giving you reassurance that the readings are accurate if the device is used correctly
The auto shut off function makes the free AAA Duracell batteries last even longer.

Customer Reviews
I HAVE BEEN USING ONE FOR 6 YEARS
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, I HAVE BEEN USING ONE FOR 6 YEARS AND IT'S STILL GOING STRONG, IT'S SIMPLE TO USE, AND AS AN EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE, I AM THINKING OF PURCHASING ANOTHER, SO WE HAVE ONE UPSTAIRS AND DOWN? I AM SURPRISED THERE ARE NO OTHER PREVIEWS ON THIS MONITOR, GEORGE S HERON B.A. 75 YEARS YOUNG
In my experience, very doubtful....
My experience with this monitor echoes that of Mr King, below. I was scared witless by extremely low diastolic readings that would certainly have raised the alarm in hospital. Yet my Doctor was very happy with my BP. Direct comparison with other monitors suggested the Braun was not at all accurate. I think this is largely due to the very small sensor in the unit which unless perfectly placed (not at all easy, given the rather rigid cuff) may give doubtful readings.
Wrist BP monitor
We rather expected a device that could be worn and looked at from time to time as my wife has to sneak up on taking her BP as she has "white coat syndrome".
BP 1600 requires that the arm is held in a rather unusual position whilst taking the reading, this is not really convenient. Also We are not sure about the machines accuracy.... It often shows my BP to be low enough to set the alarm bell ringing if I was connected to a hospital system! All in all...Not brilliant.
