Amazon.co.uk Review
Dinosaur Roar! understands perfectly the infinite appeal of dinosaurs for little children and the result is a delightful book for pre-schoolers, with 24 pages of big, bold, friendly dinosaur pictures with just enough smattering of roaring to keep the excitement bubbling.
Words are kept to a minimum, but Dinosaur Roar! cleverly teaches many adjectives and comparatives as it introduces each new dinosaur: "dinosaur clean and dinosaur slimy".
Children adore this book and will want it read again and again.
Also available as a board book. Age 12 months - 3 years. Victoria MacKenzie END
Synopsis
Illustrations and rhyming text present all kinds of dinosaurs, including ones that are sweet, grumpy, spiky, or lumpy.
Customer Reviews
A fantastic book for small kids.
My 22 month old son loves this book, and I love reading it to him. The words are simple and easy to understand, and the pictures are so beautifully evocative that it's easy for even very young kids to understand the differences between the different types of dinosaurs. It's also a great book for making up your own actions, voices and other noises. It's not a long book, and doesn't take long to read, except that you can expect to linger on each page as your child explores the various characters and descriptions to their full.
A lovely book, and one that I highly recommend to anyone with children around 2 years old.
Hugely enjoyable
This is a great book - tremendous fun and already a firm favourite with both my sons (4 and 1).
It consists of 24 pages (well really 12 double pages) of wonderful, highly stylised but still quite realistic dinosaurs. The text is simple and sparse but very effective, utilising opposites and rhyme. For example, stretching over four pages, the book contains the text Dinosaur Sweet, Dinosaur Grumpy, Dinosaur Spiky and Dinosaur Lumpy.
Very good fun and highly recommended.
Dinosaur adore
Not enough children's authors consider the parents' sanity when writing books - after all it is we who must read the stories to our kids, often ad nauseam. "Dinosaur Roar" is a book I can read over and over to my pre-school kids and I marvel at its simplicity and readability. Okay, it's quite short which is always a bonus, but the language is brilliant. My son not only grasped opposites from an early age, but also quite complex vocabulary. You can imbue the meaning of the words by your tone, and "Dinosaur slimy" is a personal favourite page. We have since invested in "Dinosaur Stomp" and "Ten Terrible Dinosaurs", and the illustrations also bring great pleasure to us all. Thanks to the authors.
