Product Description

Danny Watts' grandfather, Fergus, was a traitor - one of the worst sort and an SAS explosives expert who betrayed his country and his Regiment for money - drug money. He was arrested and left to rot and die in a Columbian jail. At least, that's what seventeen-year-old Danny is told when his hopes of becoming a soldier are destroyed for ever. But he knows something the army doesn't seem to know. Fergus Watts is alive and in the UK, living in secret under an assumed name - but where? Fergus is Danny's only living relative. Burning with fury and desire for revenge, Danny sets out to track down his grandfather and expose him. In doing so, he sets in train an explosive sequence of events which throw Danny and Fergus together on the run from the people who want Fergus, and now Danny, dead. Packed with breathtaking action, SAS procedures and surveillance and survival techniques, this is a fast-moving, action-packed thriller for teenagers.

Fast Paced, Attention Grabber.5

I have had this book lying around for a while and never really got around to reading it, recently started reading it and can't believe it took me so long!!

I do not understand the complaints people have about this book - So far complaints regarding the language used, and the violence? That's part of the story. An ex-SAS soldier set and and being hunted down to be killed, it wouldn't be action without these.

Very fast paced at times and enjoyable to read, will make sure i get the other books within this set.

NOT EVEN FOR TEENAGERS!!!!!1
NOT EVEN FOR TEENAGERS!!!!
My son was reading this book and loved it! Loved it that was until he reached the first of numerous swear words. He stopped reading this book at page 89 when he felt the use of the F word was unnecessary and offensive.
I am quite bemused that so many of people writing these comments freely overlook the use of such language. Justifying it by saying it's only language that children hear in the school playground - well firstly where on earth do you all send your children to school? and secondly you can not control what children do in a school playground, but you can control the books that children read!
I've no doubt that this is a good story but I've also no doubt that other authors are just as good and do not feel the need to offend by using such unnecessary language.
To all you Andy McNab fans - read Charlie Higson instead!

Boy Soldier, first in an exciting series!!4
This is the first of the explosive series by Andy McNab. Andy uses his experience as an SAS soldier in this book. It starts of with Danny's life long ambition to join the army. But his chance is destroyed when he finds out that his Grandfather (Fergus Watts) betrayed his country. Danny and his friend Elena start trying to locate Fergus. They find him by tracking his mobile. His house appears to be in the middle of nowhere but is it? Also Danny has ex-reporter Eddie Moyles, who wrote an article saying that Fergus Watts was a traitor, is on his case and trying to un-cover the true story. What Danny doesn't know is that people are on his case but why? When he finds his Grandfather will he discover the truth? Is Fergus the real traitor? He also has more to deal with that originally thought... I very much enjoyed this book.
