Vague and not particularly useful3
This guide is vague and in my eyes quite useless. Although the information is presented in a nice pretty colour scheme and has questions which you could do in your sleep... the guide is pretty bad at explaning the need to know. Reasons for my dislike for this guide:
-The book has little boxes that say "Bump Up your Grade" which are often quite useful but in most cases they tell you that you need to know something to bump up your grade but they do not tell you what exactly that is needed to know to increase your grade.
-The guide's contents page are in absolute shambles. It is insanely difficult to look up a certain topic in the book unless you have already seen it before and know where it is. The topics are aplit into numbers... 1.2,1.3 etc but do not give an exact page number and so you need to flick through until you find it, although normally you can have a vagueguess as where abouts in the guide it may be. (fortunately there are not alot of pages)
-However, the book is specific for AQA and has some useful information that will not go amiss which reedemed a single star.

If you are doing AQA GCSE then I would recommend a CGP guide or some other guide and only use this as a last resort as frankly, this guide is useless (although pleasing to look at with lots of nice pictures :D).

Good Resource5
We use these books at school and they are by far the easiest to understand text book around. The diagrams are very easy to understand. The text is detailed but put it in easy enough terms for you to understand.

It is by no means perfect because over the last year I've found around 25 mis-spellings and grammatical errors but you can still understand it and they don't make much difference. Although because of this it seems like the book has been botched together quickly so they could start selling it, it is a very good quality book and vital learning resource.

If I had the money I'd buy these myself for revising at home but I don't so I'll have to put up with my exercise book. These are not revision guides so have no revision plan inside them but they have everything you need to know and lots of questions in to challenge you after you have read the page. There doesn't seem to be answers in the book so I think you'll either have to check your self by reading the information again or see if there is a teachers version with the answers printed in it (I've never tried searching for one so I can't tell you if there is one).

Hope this helped.

Couldn't do without!5
This book is good staple for specialists and non-specialists alike. The lesson ideas are good and its nice to have suggestions for G&T and special needs - areas I sometimes struggle on with mixed ability classes.
Every teacher using the AQA student book should have a copy!
