not worth it!
Definately not worth the money. 79 pages, what a rip off! Have always enjoyed reading John Harvey, expected this book to be a decent novel not a little short story. Will think twice before buying any more!
Short contemporary mystery
A short mystery story involving a soldier who served in Iraq and his difficulties of dealing with the trauma he endured during the war. The story is a little slow in getting of the ground, but the ending is unexpected and pleasantly surprised me. The book deals with a contemporary issue of war and therefore, differs from many other mysteries out there. The characters are developed well enough to understand their actions. A nice read, if you don't have much time.
Crime Express
I bought this to read on the train as it's an easy to carry small paperback and John Harvey is a superb writer.
The plot centres around Kiley and Resnick searching for a soldier who has not returned to duty after being on leave from Iraq.
It's exactly what it says on the cover - a Crime Express - punchy but extremely poignant.
