Nick Gage returns to Greece to find his mother's murderer3
This is the story of Nick Gage, who returns to Greece as a news journalist but is ultimately driven to find the man who was responsible for ordering the death by firing squad of his mother Eleni. Obviously you cannot cover everything from the book in a 90 minute film, however I was slighly disappointed. The book is a true emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and will make you laugh and cry. The film struggles to recapture the tension and drama of the book and doesn't really give very much insight into the Greek Civil War or into how the people of Lia found themselves caught in the middle of a bloody relentless battle for control. If you have read the book, you will want to watch the film and yes I am glad that I did, but do not expect too much - the book is just so good that the film can never do it justice.
