Comfort and style
Over the last two years I have become a huge fan of Birkenstocks and I now own four pairs (two Madrids, one Florida and one Mayari. In my opinion, they're supremely comfortable and look really stylish. Mayari are an updated version of the older 'Cozumel' style which has been improved to include an adjustable toe strap to ensure a snug fit. The toe ring is nicely lined and doesn't feel uncomfortable to wear, in fact I wore them for a mile long walk when they were boxfresh with no undue rubbing or blistering.

My advice regarding any pair of Birkenstocks is to try them on in a shop before ordered online as the sizing can be rather generous. Otherwise there are no downsides, Birkenstocks are the most comfortable sandals you can buy and I can't see them ever going out of fashion, especially as the Mayari looks very much like a gladiator sandal.

Perfect
I have never been able to wear 'normal' toe posts but thought I'd give this one a try. It's perfect - the cross over strap just hugs the big toe very comfortably. I have a narrow foot but this regular footbed feels just right for me and I have been wearing them none stop without any discomfort at all.
