A real treat for fans
I have reviewed a number of Springsteen related books on these pages and this is my latest purchase and I can't think of a better buy for fans of the E-Street band. The important thing to remember is that this isn't a springsteen biography but the story of the E-Street Band. The book comes in a very impressive slip case, is coffee table size and comes crammed with photos from the very early days of Steel Mill through to the 1999 reunion tour, but that only tells part of the story. The real killer touch is the inclusion of reproduction press cuttings; concert tickets; back stage passes; stage sheets; fan magazines and to top it off two brilliant posters from Steel Mill and the Reunion Tour. These alone are worth the asking price as they are printed on high quality paper and would look great framed. These inserts all come in wallets and envelopes throughout the book and it's like raiding the bands own scrap book. I've never seen anything like it and it's a brilliant concept very well done. I think thats one of the books biggest strengths, it has been well researched, with the band members full backing, and it's format thought through carefully. The inserts add to the story and are not just gimmicks.
I saw Springsteen and the Seeger sessions band in November and it cost me £15 for a programme. This book is cheaper, bigger and you get a programme in it.......
Look, stop reading this and just buy it. To nick a phrase from Spinal Tap "this goes up to eleven".

A book for all fans
This was a present for a close friend and a big fan of Bruce. She loves the book and so does my wife, who now wants one for herself.
