Product Description

Fashion designer Bridgett Artise gives vintage garments that have lost their lustre another chance at being fashionable. Mixing contemporary clothing with the best elements of a vintage piece - like the collar of a funky fifties housedress or the pockets of a seventies-style jacket - and piecing them back together in a whole new way, she creates one-of-a-kind garments that are both trend setting and timeless. An old-fashioned ruffled shirt with terrific buttons, plus an inexpensive tank top, can become a unique top. With fashions for every season, Born-Again Vintage updates the trends of fashion eras gone by and brings the unparalleled quality of vintage into a new age. Complete with a vintage shopping guide, handy style tips and ideas for reinventing disused cast-offs, this is a must-have for vintage shoppers and sewers alike.

Quickly returned!!1
This book was disappointing to say the least and maybe I should have followed the saying of never judge a book by it's cover. Small in size and content the book was basic with probably only a maximum of 30 pages in total. I thought this book would contain interesting street style photography of those wearing vintage pieces with information and details of the world of vintage shopping. How wrong could I be! The book had few limiting and in my opinion out-dated ideas of adapting certain pieces from charity shops or "vintage" as they liked to call it into new wearable pieces. Although some original ideas for adaptation of garments the pieces were very specific to that type and they looked difficult to re-create. I personally would not say this justified the notion of true vintage and was more a how-to book of updating old plain pieces of clothing. One flick through this book and I saw no need to keep it, not what I expected and quickly returned it.

a bit disappointing2
i had great hopes from this book but when it arrived i thought that the ideas were a bit limited and i would have liked lots more inspiring pictures of what could be created rather than a few projects. though i suppose the clue was in the title - "25 projects"!
