Product Description

Max Ride and her five friends grew up in a science lab/prison called the School. They were created as an experiment. An experiment where they ended up only 98 percent human. That other 2 percent had a big impact. These children are pretty special.

But when an 'experiment' this secret and this special has escaped from the School, the scientists are pretty keen on making sure the world never finds out about them.

Soon, Max and the other children find themselves on the run in an adventure beyond even their wildest dreams.

"'This skilled and compulsive tale is so involved about kids being brave against the odds' - The Sunday Times"

Review

‘The first in a series from adult-thriller writer Patterson has all the characteristics of his work for grown-ups: pace, action, mystery and cool... sharp and punchy with plenty of jokes and shocks. And it proves that girls can be tough, too.’

Don't mind about age5
Maximum Ride: Schools Out Forever (Maximum Ride (Mass Market))
After reading Maximum Ride Angel Experiment, I went straight onto Amazon.co.uk and ordered Maximum Ride Schools Out Forever, iv'e now finished that and on Amazon looking for the Third book in the series, Maximum Ride saving the world and other extream sports.
I'm retired and 62 years old, but who cares, the maximum Ride series is Ab-Fab, can't wait to see what the "Flock" get up to next.
3 Cheers for James Patterson for his works of art, and 3 more for Amazon for having all the best deals for buying all you want.

What a teenager thoyght...5
I'm fifteen and I read a lot. I think the best review comes from the age group that the book in question is aimed at especially if the book is blatantly sold to get teenagers attention.

I kind of get into a pattern with books shoving them into categories: chick flick girl teenager tales all about lipstick; wanna be anthony horowitz adventure stories; wanna be magical fantasy jk rowling's or the odd really good group of books since I'm a picky reader. As soon as I saw the Maximum Ride series I'd have put it in the Anthony Horowitz wanna be group. Until I started reading that is. Uber brilliant doesn't even cover it. Most adventure books isolate you because the cahracters are so amazingly strong and so unbelievably heroic and you're just like 'this is sooooooo unbelievable' but the amazing thing is I find the novel about kids with wings more believable than I ever found Alex Rider. Away went the thoughts of 'shallow, all in it for the guns and violence etc.' that are usually the thoughts accompanied with cheap adventure/thriller novels.

I think maybe its the way the eponymous hero and main character Max talks to you throughout the novel and she includes you so you feel invovled. Maybe its the fact that Patterson gets her tone and language exactly right so you really do think its a 20008 teenage girl talking to you with the extra 'likes' and 'duhs' thrown in. Ok, yes is really strong and can fly but she also feels like one of you and not just the average 'chosen spykid' that always knows what to do to kill the bad guy. Maybe its the way that her flock seem so like my actual younger sisters and brothers attaching themselves to small stuffed bears and creating names like Tiffany-Krystal and singing costipation songs that I see them leaping out the page.

Its not just vivid characterisation that gets my 5 stars though. Patterson also throws in the most nail biting plot and giggle inspiring you could ever imagine and expertly twines it in with love and strength and responsibilty so it doesn't get you all violent and bloodthirsty even though there is a lot of action. It makes the raeder want to hug your nearest little sister, bake choclate chip cookies and think up some of Max's cheeky come backs. And still this book doesn't exclude boys! It appeals to me because of Max's character of course but then there is Iggy and Gazzy and Fang to crack the male jokes and eat giant pizzas and comment on beach bunnies not to mention make homemade grenades.

Any teenager would agree with me that you are treated like a real person, a respected reader when enjoying this series. Any parent wanting buy this for a book allergic son or daughter only has to worry about getting the books off their children as they are officially unputdownable!!!

This book inspires unity, exercise (even if it is flying) and un cissy love. I hope it's the next bestseller. Thanks James Patterson!!

LIVELY5
I thought maximum ride, the angel experiment was a fantastic book.
The reason I rate this book five stars is because of the powerful story line.
Max,Iggy,Nudge,Angel,Fang and Gasman are six bird kids which are 2% bird and 98% human.
When monster type scientists kidnap Angel, the youngest kid out of the flock,Max knows she needs to fight back.
In this thrilling, funny and honest book, every page holds a new challenge.
Evan though this book is a young adult, ten year olds like me should still be able to read it.
So whenever your looking for a original and different story then you should pick this book of a shelf.
