Synopsis
This second feature-length film based in the STARGATE SG-1 universe, a follow-up to STARGATE - THE ARK THE TRUTH, finds the SG-1 crew attending the execution of the nefarious Ba'al, the supposed final System Lord of the galaxies-spanning dominant alien race Goa'uld. When Teal'c and Vala suddenly evaporate into thin air, however, the rest of the crew heads back to Earth as quickly as possible in hopes to get to the bottom of their bizarre disappearances. What they find is worse than they could have ever imagined. A world in which the Stargate was never discovered awaits them, thus negating much of their own history and personal pasts. Before they can convince the military that not only did this time-tampering occur, but that it is the handiwork of Ba'al, hundreds of Go'uld ships line Earth's orbit. It's up to Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill (MACGYVER's Richard Dean Anderson) and the rest of crew to set things right before Ba'al conquers the world in this thrilling time-travel adventure featuring a cadre of beloved characters.

Alot Better Than Ark Of Truth!
Wow wat can i say the plot sounded interesting,so thought id take a look.Definately well worth it,i reccomend this to all fans of stargate, but have to have at least a sense of the plot!
Passable conclusion to a great TV series
With the demise of all SG1's enemies, the writers have resorted to the old "alternate timeline caused by time travel" storyline. Ba'al's last clone is captured and about to be executed when he, laughing, tells SG1 and the assembled crowd that they're making a big mistake. At that, people start dissolving into thin air. Yes, his creator has killed their grand-dads, or the equivalent. Somehow, our heroes survive this holocaust and the storyline is how they try to restore the timeline back to "theirs".
Probably the last thrashings of a tired franchise, this storyline is unsurprising and predicable, but remains great fun. There's no real "wow" moments here, but, like any fairground rollercoaster, although you may know what is coming, you can still enjoy the feeling as the certainties within the Stargate universe are stripped away and you drop into the void.
I really liked the series, still follow Stargate: Atlantis and am generally a sucker for SF, so have no problems in recommending your purchasing this.
However, new viewers should NOT start here, since, unless you know the majority of the backstory, you will be lost immediately.
Theyre back!
Stargate-continum is the 2nd made for dvd movie. I already have the u.s blu rau,so have seen the finished article. Well for a start this is better than "ark of truth" this very much feels more like an old school stargate story as it features baal the goul'd systemlord as the main villian.
The premise is simple. Baa'l is the last of the goul'd systemlords and is about to be executed by The Tokra and earth. Baal has a plan though and it ends up with the timline changing and when our heroes return to earth, the SG program never existed and we have never comeinto contact with any aliens at all. when baal and the gould attack earth, its up to SG-1 to re-alter the timeline and get things back as they were.
Continum is better than ark of truth but falls short of some of the great 2 part storys stargate did over the course of 10 yrs. This actually, though bigger in scope seems less action orientated than ark of truth! though storywise this is much better. Also Richard dean anderson is back in this and has a fair bit to do,so again it plays like an old school story. Runtime is 98 mins..just a bit longer than a 2 part story.
Blu ray quality is nice..the darker scenes do struggle a bit but the daytime scenes look very nice indeed and the DTS-HD audio will give you home cinema a good workout!
Well worth getting for Stargate fans, the casual viewer might get lost in the past references,so prob one for the fans only
8/10
