Amazon.co.uk Review
Just how good is it to have Wallace & Gromit back in their natural home? A Matter Of Loaf and Death finds the pair back in a half hour format, with the plasticine duo in charge of a thriving bakery. Business is going well, and nothing could seemingly go wrong…

Only it soon does. Because A Matter Of Loaf and Death introduces the Cereal Killer, a mysterious figure who has been killing all of the other bakers in town. Wallace, of course, is oblivious to all of this, going about his work with his merry asides and gleeful naivety. And this time his faithful hound, Gromit, is too distracted to notice any impending threat too, courtesy of his growing attraction to another hound by the name of Fluffles. It’s quite a recipe, and makes for a very entertaining half hour.

While A Matter Of Loaf and Death isn’t quite up to the highs of the pair’s adventures to date, it nonetheless finds Wallace & Gromit, and Aardman Animations, in very strong form. The level of attention and detail here is quite astounding, and the script is as packed with wry gags for the older viewers as it is with material for the youngsters.

In fact, if you cut it down the middle, the words ‘family entertainment’ would be found running right through the middle of it. Because A Matter Of Loaf and Death not only sprinkles in lots of laughs, at-times stunning animation and a fair amount of storytelling, it’s genuinely entertainment that anyone can enjoy. More, please… --Simon Brew

Synopsis
'Log Line' - Wallace and Gromit's new bakery business faces danger when a mysterious killer starts targeting all the bakers in town.
'Two Liner' - Wallace and Gromit have opened a new bakery business – Top Bun – but a deadly murderer is targeting all the bakers in town. Wallace couldn’t care – he’s found true love in the shape of Piella Bakewell, former star of the Bake-O-Lite bread commercials. Can Gromit discover the identity of the Cereal Killer before Wallace becomes the next victim?
'Two Para' - Wallace and Gromit have opened a new bakery – Top Bun – and business is booming, not least because a deadly Cereal Killer has murdered all the other bakers in town. Gromit is worried that they may be the next victims, but Wallace couldn’t care – he’s fallen head over heels in love with Piella Bakewell, former star of the Bake-O-Lite bread commercials. So Gromit is left to run things on his own, when he’d much rather be getting better acquainted with Piella’s lovely pet poodle Fluffles. But then Gromit makes a shocking discovery which points to the killer's true identity. Can he save his master from becoming the next baker to be butchered? And does Fluffles know more than she is saying? It’s a classic 'who-doughnut' mystery, as four-time Academy Award winning director Nick Park creates a hilarious new masterpiece in the tradition of 'master of suspense' Alfred Hitchcock.

Wallace & Gromit return to their better suited 30 minute films. This short is packed with the puns that we've grown accustomed to in their earlier features. The BluRay picture is top bun and you'll see jokes which you can't on standard DVD. It would have been nice to have a few more extras but since the BluRay is only a bit dearer than the DVD, it's really a complaint that can be levelled at both versions. My favourite joke remains Gromit's look after Wallace says that he's "in bread". Also like the homage to the 60s Batman movie when they can't get rid of the bomb because of ducks, nuns, etc.

Short but Good5
Glad to be able to add this to my collection, but short run, would have been better to have the other short films together on this disc.

They've done it again - Superb5
A great asset to a collection of Wallace & Gromit. It will keep you amused all the way through and it is ideal for all ages.

Great buy.
