Customer Reviews

Bontempi guitar needs work1
The Bontempi pink guitar is a great looking guitar but its mathematical accuracy leaves much to be desired. As a professional guitarist myself I know exactly what I am talking about.

Firstly the strings are too high off the fretboard. The nut by the headstock is not cut deep enough. This has the effect that when you depress a string on the 1/2/3rd fret the string is pushed beyond its natural note which means it is out of tune. One can tune the guitar but once you try to hold an actual chord, it is completely out of tune. If one tunes it into the chord then the very next different chord you play will be out of tune.

This is a disappointment for me as I was hoping my little girl could start playing the guitar. As it is the best fun we're having out of it is to tune it to an open chord and then just use a single finger bar chord to change the chords. In standard tuning the guitar is unplayable.

I should think it a pretty easy thing for the factory that makes these guitars to build in a bit more accuracy. If not then why are they making them and advertising them as 'real' instruments? If its not playable it's not real.

This was a present for my grand-daughter. I found it difficult to tune. I think it might be beyond a six-year old.
