This book covers the history of the operator from its origins in the period immediately after the end of World War 2, and it examines how the operator's fleet and services evolved over more than 50 years through to the increasing dominance of the National Bus Company's corporate image in the early 1970s.

Customer Reviews
Southern National by Colin Morris, a superb study.
An excellent book tracing the history of the company from the days prior to it's inception in 1929, up to and slightly beyond it's amalgamation with sister company Western National in 1969.
There's considerable colour photography, some of quite rare subjects, for example Bristol LS on the 322 at Boscastle, and SU's and K's at Wadebridge and Padstow.
Extensive research into the early days of National, acquired operators, and some excellent maps and graphics make this a superb read.
