Bristol LODEKKA by Martin S. Curtis4
The appearance of the Bristol Lodekka marked a leap forward in bus design equivalent to the later arrival of the rear-engined buses. It achieved low-height whilst still offering good headroom on both decks [without the intrusive sunken side gallery], a stepless entrance and flat floor on both decks through an innovative chassis design. This was way ahead of other bus design at the time. The unfortunate thing was that it was restricted to a specific market to protect the other chassis and body producers in the UK. This was overcome slightly through the production of the Dennis Loline under licence. Martin Curtis gives a detailed and accurate account of the design, development and production of the Lodekka in both forms in which it was produced. As someone interested in bus design I found this book a valuable addition to the whole subject and a very interesting and informative read.

Bristol Lodekka Nostalgia5
This book is a truly nostalgic trip to the past. It is full of facts on the production history and contains at least one or two photos on each page. This book is a must not just for a Bristolian lke myself who travelled frequently on them, but for any bus enthusiast. Well worth a look!

Worth Buying.4
A well presented book and worth buying. I bought it because, having lived in London all my life, the only chance I got to see Lodekkas was on days out to the coast, like Bournemouth . If, like me you missed them when they were around this book tells you all you need to know.
