creatively challenging, inspiring, beautifully presented.
For a long time now I have collected boxes, and on the odd attempt of making something interesting and unique by my own hand for my selective collection, I have ended up with nothing more than an uninspiring, unimaginative wooden container. I bought 'The book of boxes' thinking it would give me a start at a few basic designs. But I was also delighted to find that it had a great number of beautiful illustrations full of inspiration. The projects in the book are very well laid out, with easy to follow intructions and different degrees of difficulty. Although a few skills are required to complete the more comlpex projects, if you start at the beginning of the book you find these are not as daunting as you once thought they must be. After searching high and low for a book on boxes that is creatively challenging, yet doesn't scare off the hobby woodworker, I'm glad to say my search is over. The book itself is also beautifully presented, inside and out, and a pleasure to look at even if you don't intend to make anything. Ideal for anyone who likes boxes, and we all know one of them!
