About the Author
Mel Byars is an acclaimed design historian who has written more than a dozen books on contemporary applied art, including the recent The Design Encyclopaedia. A previous lecturer in design history at Pratt Institute and The Fashion Institute of Technology, both in New York, he contributes articles to a number of magazine and lectures widely. He lives in New York City.
