Direct Action - A "Must buy"!5
I am afraid I am one of those who hardly ever read books but now I am totally converted! I honestly could not put this one down. Parts of the book left me feeling so sad and the next excited about what was going to happen next!!!!! Roll on the next one Lance!!!!!

I really enjoyed this book, the writers style is easy to read and you just want to keep turning the pages. There is a bit of sex in it and I felt some scenes didn't add to the plot so might have been better just being hinted at. Blacks style of setting and describing his crime scenes is both lifelike and coldly shocking, sometimes going into details which will send a cold shiver down your spine, this is his triumph, as although parts of the book are uncomfortable to read, the sad reality is that it is a real reflection of the type of crime being committed today, so, it's not only a very enjoyable thriller, it actually makes you stop and think about what is going on outside your own front door.
I love Stuart McBride's books which are set in Aberdeen, this is a bit more brutal, but a must read for any Aberdonian.

Exciting, gripping, articulate, clever plot with surprising end! Very impressed - couldn't put it down. Just bought 4 more copies as Xmas presents for Aberdonians who live abroad. I know they'll love it!
