Surprisingly up to date
Having grown up with the Broons and Oor Wullie and the homespun wisdom of the Sunday Post, I left the twee publication alone on moving down to London many years ago. My mum, in her wisdom, has decided that now is the time to introduce the wee scamp to my own 11 year old wee scamp, who is very much a Londoner.
Well Jings, crivvens and help ma boab, but he just loves the lord of the upturned bucket. Listening to my one trying to pronounce "hae", "dae","aye" and the like is priceless, and the stories are surprisingly up to date mentioning such modern day icons such as the "ayepod" (sic) and snowboarding. There are more than a few rubbish puns which have raised a chortle or two from myself as well so if you find Rab C Nesbitt too much, turn to this spiky wee nyaff for an update on what the well dressed young Scot is up to at the moment.

Lets face it, he pre-dates Bart Simpson by decades and whilst the humour is obviously much more slight and gentle, the two would make brilliant pals.

Its a great read for younger kids and adults alike.
