Underrated Brilliance
Warrior Soul are true originals. The music and lyrics are charged with an intensity rarely found anywhere. It's punk (and I mean real punk not modern corporate trash), it's metal, it's hard rock, it's ambient...these guys are geniuses and deserve to be considered Rock Gods!
They are anti-establishment rebels with the added bonus that their music is, unlike others who have tried to mix music and politics, actually excrutiatingly brilliant. The lyrics are genuinely poetic, thought-provoking and convey an anger that will shake your foundations. If you like kick-ass rock then this is definitely for you. Warrior Soul are unique: a perfect combination of quality hard rocking music and laser sharp lyrics with biting sincerity.
Classic debut from one of the best bands ever!
This debut was metal in the core with lots of influenses like punk or new wave and of course very political. At first Metallica had the band open for them and they seemed to be the next big thing, back in 1990. Of course not many people were lucky to have heard of Warrior Soul. The songs in this album are meaningful and honest and are sung by a very charismatic and passionate artist: Kory Clarke. Every song here is important. 'The losers' is probably in the top 10 songs of the 90's'(Why not No1?)and they sould have been far more succesful, but this band wasn't meant to be heard by the masses. It would be a better world if they did! Just get this album,it's never too late to discover real artistic passion.
Amazing
I was 17 when this album first came out and it proved to be the soundtrack of my year alongside The Mission. All of these songs speak of a frustration with the world, governments and ignorance.
From the opening salvo of 'I See The Ruins, LDDC runs a whole gamut of emotions and styles; it is so much more than your average American RAWK. The album is extremely political (though next years follow up, Drugs God and The New Republic was even more political)which provides a great backdrop to buzzsaw guitars and a pounding rhythm section. Try this album - it is FANTASTIC.
