Schumann Songs
I bought this album because I heard Geraldine McCreevey singing some of the featured lieder at a concert in St John's Smith Square, London. I thought she was superb, and put real feeling into the performance. I bought the CD hoping to re-capture the experience. I was not disappointed. I fell especially for 'In Der Nacht', which is extremely beautiful and haunting. Lieder by Hans Christian Andersen were new to me, and a great discovery. Very dark, quite unlike Andersen's 'Danny Kaye' image. Very recommended.
