Editorial Reviews
From the Publisher
This first of two 'bowls' book is based on the authors real-life experiences and observations from his love of the sport of bowling.
In every sport there are the triumphs and disasters, unbelievable errors and unlikely outcomes. This 'tongue in cheek' introduction to bowling is a truely funny 'no holds barred' look at bowling from every angle, player and spectator.
To be followed later by a fully fledged 'humourists' novel, this introduction is all you need to 'enjoy' the sport without picking up a bowl!
From the Author
I love the sport of bowling and it remains of of the few 'unspoilt' games in the world today.
I hope you have as much fun reading this book as I have had putting it together?
Life is just a short breath in time, but whilst we breathe we have time to sense every emotion and taste life to the full, so breathe deeply my friends.....

Customer Reviews
Gentle fun, but badly written
I was given this book for Christmas. While the story is okay(ish) - nothing spectacular, but with a few likeable and believable characters - the writing style is akin to a conversation in a pub. The author's grasp of the English language is rather poor, and some of the bowls terminology used must be specific to his part of the UK, because a lot of it was utterly foreign to me. If only he'd found himself a good editor before being published...
The Writing Style Spoils it
I found the author's style so irritating that it spoiled the enjoyment. I have tried the other books in the series, and all have the same faults. In many cases, the author's general knowledge has so may gaps in it that I was distracted from the story by the irritation I experienced.
