Good value
With all the lovely weather we are having i was getting frustrated with no music outside! Would have loved to go for the Bose system but had to settle for the next best thing! Great value for money, no complaints as of yet!

Excellent piece of equipment
This is a really good item of kit. The Ipod sits comfortably in the dock thanks to the range of docks supplied, the sound is really good with plenty of base and the radio is excellent allowing for 10 pre-set stations.

It needs a lot of C2 batteries to be completely portable but as you are likely to want this facility only occasionally this is not a problem. The one drawback is the rather heavy transformer which is a separate item but on the other hand it means that this amount of weight is removed from the system if you wish to carry it and use it as a portable item.

I give it 5 stars and will probably purchase a second one.

Beware!
I am very disappointed with this product. It is sold as a "portable" player, and that's why I bought it. I wanted to be able to carry the device with me as I moved around the house - without having to unplug/plug in every time I moved from room to room. But it turns out that you have to keep it plugged in all the time if you don't want the batteries to drain (my 8 brand new Duracell "C" batteries - 14.99 - lasted less than 24 hours!). I emailed the US manufacturers to complain that this had happened and was advised: "...make sure your i552 is plugged in when not in use. Since this unit is never true turned off (sic), only in stand by mode, it will drain power from your batteries when it is not plugged into the AC adaptor."

I find this incredible. Since when does a "portable" device have to be continually plugged into the mains? If I'd wanted a non-portable home system for my iPod I could have bought a far superior/more powerful one for the same money. Now I'm stuck with this battery monster that has to be lugged round the house attached to its 1/2 kilo weight transformer and plug. Duh.

Run a mile from this junk.
