Product Description

In releasing this two-CD live album of Pink Floyd's elaborate production, both the Roger Waters and David Gilmour-led camps almost atone for the bitter back-biting fans have endured throughout the '80s and '90s. As delivered by Waters, Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and a smattering of back-upmusicians, these renditions are a reminder of how tight this Floyd line-up could be. Among THE WALL's major themes are the character's mixed feelings over sex as revealed by "Young Lust," an overprotective mom and the hazards thereof in "Mother," and the decision of the musician's label to drug himup to perform in "Comfortably Numb." Two welcome but ephemeral songs cut from the original studio album, "What Shall WeDo Now" and "The Last Few Bricks" are also included in thisrelease of Waters' sprawling concept.

More energetic than the studio version5
Interestingly I know two Floyd nuts who don't like The Wall all that much. I lent them this live version and they loved it. I assume they like the live energy and the extended guitar solos. So if you don't like the studio version then you might want to give this version a try as it rocks out that little bit more.

Then again I know another person who loves the studio version but gets annoyed by the crowd noise during the quiet introspective bits.

In my opinion it's The Wall. You can't go wrong with the greatest concept album ever recorded. Buy the studio version first. If you love that, or see merit in it but it doesn't quite do it for you, then this live version is well worth buying. Personally I prefer the studio version but I love this almost as much.

BETTER THAN THE STUDIO RECORDING5
Hear the madness creep into the vocals as this amazing gig progresses. It's fantastic. Boy i wish I'd been there. Yet the question remains - does this concert exist on video? There were brief clips shown on TV a while back.

HOLY MOLEY! This is VERY good!5
I bought this and the first time I listened to it I feel in love with this, trully awesome live performance. The beginning opening announcement left me chuckling and the sheer passion that's put into this not only make this a brilliant listen but I'd say better than the studio album. It'll have pride of place in my collection forever!

Buy it!!
