Having never used a cordless hair straightener I was intrigued to see how it would measure up to my tried-and-tested ever faithful plug-ins. The booklet is simple and surprisingly usable – clear pictures showing how to insert the energy cells and use the appliance, and the instructions are only in English! The only drawback is the constant hum, similar to that of a gas stove – the click to ignite and start heating the straightener may take some getting used to.

The straighteners themselves, though, work very well. The plates are very smooth and do glide through your hair easily, and the result is satisfactorily straight.

Where this appliance really comes into its own, however, is when you’re on the go. They heat up quickly and, importantly, come with a very handy heat-proof cover which you can put on as soon as you turn it off – according to the instructions there’s no need to wait for them to cool down. They also come with two handles, one of which is decidedly smaller, so it’ll fit into a handbag easily, and changing them is easy, although for the smaller handle you would need to buy a supply of smaller energy cells. festival essential!
These straighteners are perfect if your a) not looking to spend a lot of money on cordless straighteners b) if your hair isn't very curly/thick c) if you want a quick and easy way of having straight hair when camping etc.

I bought these after the poor reviews of other cordless straighteners, for the money i found them to be very good, they heat up quickly, are very easy to use and they straightened my hair well.

There are a few con's however the straighteners don't tend to "grip" your hair much so i have to hold the end while i am straightening which isn't too much hassle, i also can't imagine they'd straighten very thick or curly hair as mine is just slightly wavy but did a perfect job on mine.

Overall i am very glad i purchased them and they will be travelling to many festivals in the future!

Disappointing & Expensive Purchase
I bought the straighteners as a present and expected them to be good considering the product description. However, I found them to be disappointing and also quite expensive considering other similar products available. The ceramic plates are small and take much longer to heat up than 120 seconds. Also rather than being powered by an internal battery like the majority of other cordless straighteners, these are actually gas powered which is probably why they take so long to heat up. In summary, if you want cordless straighteners, do not buy this one!

Warm but not hot
As far as straighteners go, I don't think cordless can compete with corded. For cordless, these are pretty good, but if your hair requires a lot of straightening, stick with corded ones. I like the fact you can swap the gas cannister to shorten the handle, so they can fit in your bag.Handy for travelling and light use.
