The New York born daughter of an American father and an Italian mother has grown into one of Europe's most adventurous musicians.
Rossana is equally comfortable in both jazz and pop idioms.
She is a sensuous,expressive interpreter of the jazz standards ( by such American songwriters such as Cole Porter,George Gershwin,Duke Ellington,Thelonius Monk) that fill the album.
Casale's tribute to her biggest influences is an incredible CD that manages to capture both Rossana's delicate,sinuous vocal power and the spirit of the women it is paying tribute to.
With an ace backing band and a firm understanding of how to achieve her tributes,Casale has provided a very engaging album,which was recorded in a whirlwind four-day session :
