Editorial Reviews
Album Description
First ever domestic European release for USA Ska-Punk giants LESS THAN JAKE. "The Pez Collection" was compiled for Moon Ska Europe by the band members themselves and includes tracks from their three independently released albums "Pezcore", "Greased" and "Losers, Kings and Things We Don't Understand" plus tracks from their more recent two USA Capitol Records albums "Losing Streak" and "Hello Rockview". The album also contains two tracks from the ultra rare 7" vinyl only release "Rock N Roll Pizzeria" as well as two previously unreleased tracks "Mixology Of Tom Collins" and a cover of The Jam's "Modern World". There is no better example of brilliant USA Ska-Punk than Less Than Jake. True talent and ambassadors for the real Punk spirit which has helped them become a major force in the Ska-Punk world but also the American music scene in general
Customer Reviews
The only Less Than Jake album you need
Less Than Jake do tend to fall into the same trap as other mid 90's punk/ska explosion bands in that after a while all tracks seem to run together. That's why I mostly by label samplers to get a variety of sounds, rather than band albums.
This release compiles tracks from other LTJ albums, and if your LTJ collection is sizeable I wouldn't bother getting this as you'd have the tunes already. The CD swings along with great energy and you will find yourself joining in. "My own flag", "One last cigarette" and "Liquor store" are my personal favourites. LTJ are not quite up to the level of the almighty Rancid, but I'd recommend this release to any ska/punk fans.
BUY THIS(NOW)
This is probably one of the best less than jake albums .If you do take my advice wisely and buy this listen to track 1 (als war),track 3 (my very own flag)and track 5 (jen doesnt like me any more). These are good tracks but you will find all the tracks are better than any other less than jake songs you have ever heard. If you enjoy this band try bands such as MxPx,Lagwagon and ALL.If you want to know anything about which punk C.D.s to buy just E-mail me.
Pez wars
This is just one of those cd's that you find addictive. All the great songs off most of their great albums compacted into 51.52 minutes of pure audio heaven on a single cd! Outstanding tracks on this LTJ complilation include Johnny Quest Thinks We're sellouts and a great cover of We Go Together. Ska/Punk at its finest!
