Customer Reviews
A lovely collection
Well having been slightly dissappointed that the album was in fact mixed (my fault I should have paid more attention) I was "delighted" to find some truly lovely, soulful, music.
The album kicks off with the wonderful "Lay me down" and there the journey begins. Unfortunately for me its temporarily interupted by the YBU:Soul magic which wasn't realy in fitting with the whole CD, dont get me wrong its a cracker of a tune, but just didn't flow for me.
However after that small blip the journey restarts and there really are some very nice tunes. Some I know. Some I don't and will be investigating the artists further.
I'm glad I picked it up!
Electric Funk at its very best
Inspired by the Electric Chair night at Music Box Manchester this is the third compilation album from The Unabombers and perhaps their finest to date.
The album could be described as an electic mix of jazz, funk and soul songs with a sprinkling of house music. This is without doubt one of those albums that is a rare gem...The true beauty is that with most (even great) albums there is always a few mismatched songs or a tune that doesn't quite keep a consistent mood to the album as whole and although this album has slightly quieter and faster moments, they are all mixed so seamlessly together that at 60 minutes you wish the album would never end. A true classic that is a perfect antidote to any heavy night out, chill out session or long drive.
