Buy it just for that one song....
When listening to White Pony, I loved Pink Maggit, and always thought, this song would be amazing if it had more pace. It was when I was watching the B-sides and Rarities DVD that suddenly, 'Back To school' came on.
That song is now one of my favourite ever Deftones tracks.. it's powerful, slightly nu-metal, but hey, putting that aside, it's a heavy overload of strong emotion. The video is slightly corny, but perhaps it's tongue in cheek.. you can never tell with americans.
Anyway, the rest of the tracks are a treat of live tracks and also 'Teething' which is a non album track, and also appears on the soundtrack to The Crow: City of Angels.
For any Deftones fan, this I believe is an important CD to perchase, and it's cheap second hand too. For anyone not familiar with Deftones, I'd recommend giving 'White Pony' and 'Around The Fur' in particular a try.

people are missing the point of this album... bad quality, jumbled up not really people are missing that besides the opening selling song, tracks 2-5 are like a human wasteland that the recording echoes, the bleakness of this kind of anger. Track 6 is like a poignant reminder of what those who get off on this violence sound like to others who actually care for something... and we are left with a poignant reminder that 'all you are... is me' all those we are writing off are... with the human heartbeat trailing the album out...

this is back to school
I love the Deftones and have seen them many times. Being a mainly live EP I was really looking forward to it but I have heard much better recordings played on the radio. The only reason I give this 3 stars is that even these not so well recorded songs are still cool and the track back to school itself is really good.
